NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard through select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the football calendar and after last week's discussion regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

However it was positive to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year with CB their star corner. They rank number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that battle.

They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending more than four pass rushers but they might plug two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said during a show that Denver could be the current year's surprise contenders. They finished last season well then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly while recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows that the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in favourable situations.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw all over, however they don't move in the same way as Nix. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, as well as finding varied release points to make the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws over the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the defence to be on the field for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence must defend the area downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. The coach can really build something up how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, which is a good place to be in their division. The key to do to continue this path.

They excel at embracing their forte, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win a game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are also the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
