Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

It is a hard one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
