From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group access places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
